Steam club is aimed at students who already know a programming language (such as Scratch) and are interested in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and maker. Students will experience hands on maker skill.
Sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong), organized by Hong Kong Federation of Workers (HKFEW), content development and delivery by PolyU Design
Started in 2023 Sep, with 10 participating schools from 2023 Sep till 2024 Jun.
Concepts to be covered:
Mechanisms: spur and worm gear, gear train
Motor: geared motor, rotary encoder
Electronics: ESP32C3, motor driver, encoder input, WS2812 control (LED)
Programming: customization of lighting and motion sequence through mobile application, communication through WebSocket.
