Optimising the Four Senior Secondary Core Subjects

Introduction

In September 2021, the Education Bureau (EDB) implemented the enhancement arrangements for senior secondary subjects. In response to the EDB's announcement of the enhancement measures for the four core senior secondary subjects (i.e. Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, and Civic and Social Development), our school has conducted an overall review of the senior secondary school curriculum and planned for it, so as to properly utilise the released space to provide more diversified learning experiences to cater for the different interests, abilities and aspirations of students, and to cultivate their whole-person development and The curriculum is designed to provide more diversified learning experiences to cater for students' different interests, abilities and aspirations, and to nurture their whole-person development and multiple talents. Apart from taking core subjects, elective subjects and Applied Learning (ApL) courses, senior secondary students are also required to experience ‘Other Learning Experiences’ (OLE) beyond academics, including moral and civic education, sports development, arts development, social services and work-related experiences, in order to achieve whole-person development.
