BHS Students Successfully Attained Bronze Award of Hong Kong Police Authority Youth Award Scheme After Rigorous Training and Assessments
The Bronze Award Presentation Ceremony of The Hong Kong Award for Young People (HKAYP), organised by the Hong Kong Police Operating Authority, was held at Police Headquarters on 26 June. Nine JPC students from our school enrolled in the tailor-made Bronze Level Hiking Expedition Course arranged by the Police Force, and completed all training sessions and assessments with perseverance.
The entire course, planned and supervised uniformly by the Hong Kong Police Force, lasted over two months from March to May. Participants were required to attend in-school theoretical lessons, a two-day-one-night outdoor camp, the official hiking assessment, and submit expedition plans and summary reports. Absence from any session would disqualify them from the assessment. Under the guidance of police officers, students mastered navigation, first aid, camp craft and other practical skills. They juggled academic studies with intensive outdoor training and overcame numerous physical and teamwork challenges.
The guests commended the young participants for their persistence and encouraged them to pursue the Silver and Gold Awards.
