Sichuan Sister School Exchange Tour 2025

2025-04-02

From 2nd to 5th April 2025,  19 Form 3 to Form 5 students (including Chinese and non-Chinese students) were led by teachers to visit Chengdu, Sichuan(四川) and visit the sister school in the Mainland (Chengdu NO.7 Wanda High School成都七中萬達學校). Students and teachers in both places can deepen the understanding of the motherland, and cultivate students' generic and communication skills.

The exchange tour activity was completed smoothly and successfully. The students experienced the high-quality teaching in the Mainland and the warm hospitality of the students of the sister school. Both of the students in the two schools hope that there will be more platforms for communication and exchange with each other in the future.

Through this exchange tour, students participated in various activities arranged by the sister school, including traditional tie-dyeing skills experience, martial arts classes, Sichuan opera mask and dumpling-making workshops. Students also had the opportunity to have lunch with students of the sister school and experienced campus life in the Mainland.

Apart from the activities organized by the sister school, our students also visited Sichuan University Museum (四川大學博物館), Jinli Street (錦裡古街), Jin River / Jianjiang (錦江), Kuanzhai Alley (寬窄巷子) in Chengdu and other places with rich Sichuan cultural characteristics, allowing students to have a deeper understanding of local culture and historical development in Sichuan. Students also went to the Dujiangyan Panda Center (都江堰熊貓基地) to visit many pandas and experienced their real habitats and living environment. We also arranged our students to visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project (都江堰水利工程). For this world's oldest diversion and greatest water conservancy project without a dam which is still in use today, it successfully solved the problems of river water diversion, water intake control and automatic sand discharge, and everyone was amazed at the outstanding achievements of ancient China.

In summary, in addition to increasing students’ understanding of China, this exchange tour also helps students to enhance their sense of belonging to China and their national identity, broadens their horizons and perspectives, and helps promote their all-round development.
