Bethel High School Holds "Deception Prevention Smart Star" Event to Jointly Build Campus Safety Defenses
To raise teenagers' awareness of preventing telecommunications fraud, the Junior Police Call (JPC) School Branch of Bethel High School organized a themed event titled "Deception Prevention Smart Star" — Together Learning Anti-Deception to Safeguard Our Safety during the lunch break on November 21, 2025, at the cover-playground. The event drew the participation of over 260 teachers and students. It received support and sponsorship from the Hong Kong Police Force, which provided professional anti-deception information and promotional materials.
In recent years, there has been a growing number of cases involving teenagers falling victim to phone scams and online phishing. In response to this situation, the event was launched. It featured an anti-deception information display area, where high-incidence cases and prevention tips provided by the Hong Kong Police Force were showcased, with JPC members offering patient explanations. There was also an interactive Q&A game zone where questions were set based on common fraud scenarios, and correct answers earned commemorative stationery. A video screening area continuously played anti-deception short films produced by the police. Additionally, an information distribution area handed out materials such as the "Anti-Deception Pamphlet" printed by the police.
According to statistics, over 80% of the participating students were able to answer the anti-deception questions correctly, and more than 70% indicated that they would share anti-deception knowledge with their family and friends. The event not only equipped students with anti-deception knowledge but also enhanced the capabilities of JPC members.
Looking ahead, the school will continue to organize anti-deception activities and strengthen its cooperation with the police to jointly create a safe campus environment. This event sets a benchmark for anti-deception education on campus and safeguards the healthy growth of young people.
