Bethel High School JPC AYP Bronze Award Two-Day One-Night Outdoor Training Successfully Completed

2026-03-16

From 14 to 15 March 2026, Bethel High School, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Police Force Junior Police Call (JPC), successfully held the two‑day one‑night outdoor training camp for the Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) Bronze Award – Outdoor Adventure at the Hong Kong Police Force Man Yee Activity and Training Centre and Sai Kung Country Park. The camp was led by Ms. Woo Tsz Yi and Mr. WU Luning from Bethel High School, with all Bronze Award participants fully engaged throughout the programme.

As a core practical module following the theoretical session held on 7 March at the school, the training covered essential outdoor skills including map reading, compass use, navigation, camping craft, outdoor cooking, first aid, expedition planning and record‑keeping. Professional instructors from the Hong Kong Police Force delivered hands‑on training, integrating classroom knowledge with real‑life outdoor scenarios to strengthen participants’ practical competence and problem‑solving abilities.

During the camp, students worked in teams to complete tasks including tent construction, route planning, group cooking and simulated first‑aid drills. Through collaboration and mutual support, participants not only mastered practical outdoor skills but also developed leadership, communication and team spirit, demonstrating self‑discipline, courage and responsibility.

This two‑day one‑night training laid a solid foundation for the upcoming Bronze Award qualifying expedition on 18–19 April. Bethel High School will continue to partner closely with the Hong Kong Police Force JPC to support students’ whole‑person development through challenging and meaningful outdoor adventure activities.
