2017-04-29
A parent-child day trip organized by the Parent-Teacher Association of our school was successfully completed on 29 April. More than 30 parents, students and teachers joined the outing, the itinerary of which started from Tai O Fishing Village, dubbed 'The Venice of Hong Kong', in the morning. Everyone tried the local delicacies, walked around the distinctive stilt houses, immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the traditional fishing village, toured the Tai O Heritage Hotel (renovated from the former Tai O Police Station) and strolled along the salt marsh trail. On their way, participants bought some traditional Tai O foods, such as Cha Kwo (steamed sweet / salty glutinous dumplings), shrimp paste and salted fish. In the afternoon, they had a vegetarian meal at Po Lin Monastery. After lunch, they climbed 268 stairs to see the world-renowned Big Buddha and enjoyed a panoramic view of Lantau Island. Then, they reached the Wisdom Path and did shopping in the Ngong Ping Village. The group stayed till dusk and everyone had a full and happy day.
