Bethel High School's Junior Police Call Bronze Badge Outdoor Camping Activity Concludes Successfully
Bethel High School and the Hong Kong Police Junior Police Call (JPC) Activity Centre have successfully organized a two-day and one-night adventure camp. Led by experienced teachers Tong Lai Yan and Wu Luning, a total of 13 enthusiastic students participated in the event, exploring the natural beauty of Sai Kung East Country Park and Sai Kung Man Yee JPC Training Centre.
The activity commenced with a prompt assembly at Yuen Long Stadium and Kowloon Tong MTR Station at 8:00 am on February 15th (Saturday). Over the next two days, students not only immersed themselves in nature but also learned various practical skills under the guidance of professional instructors. They cooked their own meals, enjoying the fruits of their labor, which not only enhanced their hands-on ability but also made them appreciate food more.
The activity was rich and diverse, covering first aid, compass usage, wilderness survival skills, and more. Through hands-on practice, students mastered practical skills such as orientation in the wilderness, handling sudden injuries and illnesses, and constructing simple shelters. These skills not only made them more confident during the adventure but also laid a solid foundation for their future life and learning.
This event not only focused on skill development but also emphasized teamwork, discipline, and the enhancement of life skills. Students supported each other and advanced together, profoundly understanding the importance of teamwork. They also learned how to abide by rules and manage themselves, qualities essential for future success.
It is worth mentioning that the event placed special emphasis on fostering harmony among students from different racial and cultural backgrounds. Through joint exploration and learning, students enhanced their mutual understanding and friendship, fostering a harmonious and inclusive campus atmosphere.
The event organizer, school teachers, expressed, "We are delighted to witness the growth and progress of the students in this activity. They have not only learned many practical skills but more importantly, they have learned how to face difficulties and challenges and how to cooperate with others for mutual success. These experiences will have a profound impact on their future life and learning."
Bethel High School has always been committed to cultivating students' comprehensive qualities. Through such outdoor activities, it not only exercises students' physical fitness but also enhances their teamwork ability, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to society. In the future, Bethel High School will continue to collaborate with the Hong Kong Police Junior Police Call Activity Centre to organize more similar outdoor activities, providing students with more opportunities to connect with nature, challenge themselves, and grow and progress through practice.
